There are many different approaches and branches of astrology and learning can take decades. So take it slow and move through what calls to you naturally. Below are just a few of the books and places I started with and recommend based on what has spoken to me over the years.

I love anything and everything by Dane Rudhyar. But this one is special because whether you are knowledgeable in astrology or not, this offers a beautiful, rich and insightful look into the zodiac from a psychological and spiritually meaningful place and shows how our unique synthesis of all of it is our gift and power in this life.

Astrology for the Soul by Jan Spiller
I love this book on the North Node of the Moon. It reveals insight into the special path we are each on in this lifetime and the hidden talents we possess for achieving our purpose. She offers in depth, detailed interpretations of it's influence and explains the life lessons we are here to learn and ways to overcome obstacles to reach our ultimate desires and fulfillment.

This is a great book for parents. Although not an astrology book, astrology knowledgeable parents will absolutely see how it relates. The author gives self-tests in the beginning to help you hone in on the core personality, which you can then compare to the child's natal chart for confirmation. Then it walks you through the different developmental ages with science, tips and specific guidance to nurture your child's nature.

The Way They Learn by Cynthia Ulrich Tobias
This, non astrology, book offers valuable insight into understanding the different ways our children learn and how we can teach them to their strengths. And I believe this can also be seen in the chart, particularly through looking at Mercury. This book gives actual breakdowns and questionnaires for discovering your child's learning style. Then you can look to validate and support that through their insight as well as astrology knowledge.
