Mars Retrograde in Aries - Sept. 9th - Nov. 14th 2020:
Mars goes retrograde every two years. And this years' in Mars' home sign will intensify our energy and life force, calling for the review of how we express and assert ourselves in the world. And naturally while Mars is running in reverse, it can in-site even more frustrations, fighting and flared tempers than usual. Especially if we are choosing to engage in the things around us that ignite this kind of response in us.
And with the extra intense vibes of 2020 and challenging aspects Mars is making to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn throughout his transit, you have probably already been feeling times of struggle and upset.
So I put together a few tips to offer some support in managing this retrograde portion of the Mars through Aries cycle.
1. Don't just do it! - Don't just act without thinking things through is a good one in general, but when the energy of Mars is turned inward you can really get an opportunity to hone your plan of attack for optimum success. You may struggle to or not be able to act as quickly or do as much as you want to, which can be frustrating. So find a healthy outlet for any pent up energy and proceed once you return to a calmer state.
2. Prime your passions - Mars rules our ambitions, passions and sexual drive, and the burning energy focused inward more strongly could cause you to overheat or combust. You may feel the push to make progress intensify, but will need to pace yourself and do what you can when, where and how you can without pushing too hard. And when things get extra hot, another healthy outlet for releasing some stress might be a little extra sexy time with your lover to redirect negative energy and spark some more positive vibes.
3. Tame your temper- Mars in his home sign of Aries can certainly flare tempers and bring up anger issues to be dealt with. It will be extra easy to snap off and lash out at others. So this is a good time to assess how you deal with conflict and anger. If patience isn't your strong suit then start thinking now of go-to ways for navigating times when you get triggered.
Given the current climate I feel like #3 will be the one most of us could benefit from most. And so from my perspective, a good way to play this transit is by being seriously selective in who, what, and where you focus your energies. When issues come up and you feel your temperature rise; stand down, walk away, retreat, settle within yourself and only act from a place of calm and peace. This will ensure you avoid getting into any unnecessary or unwarranted conflicts with others and remain centered and stable.
And working on #1 and #2 can also help you avoid running into walls or tough times. So always look for healthy was to release stress and focus on what projects, goals and desires you really want to make progress on. Revisit where you are, assess where you want to go, and see what tasks you can do to get a little further along on your path.
These tips are great to keep in mind whenever Mars is involved, but even more so than usual I think by following them now, we could all save ourselves a lot of trouble.
